Yes, we offer a range of classes aimed at beginners. So whether you’re completely new to dance or getting back into it after a long break. Classes include our Beginner Choreography, Popping & Kids Street dance… check out our full timetable for all info.

Our timetable is updated weekly to accommodate any changes (cover or cancellations) that need to occur. Our booking system now refreshes on Thursday afternoons (midday) to allow booking for the following week. We do also advise you to leave full contact details and follow our Instagram (@take1dance) should we need to make any very last minute adjustments.

So just to clarify, if you’ve taken a Class on a Monday… you will need to wait until the Thursday to book again for the following week.

Yes, our Popping, Choreography and Contemporary classes are open to adults. Please note children may also be present, these are often our team members who attend for extra training and this shouldn’t deter you from taking part.

We do sometimes run adult dance courses. Again, keep an eye on our social media for announcements and more information.

Treat dance training like a sports/exercise session. Comfortable, relaxed/loose fitting garments that allow easy movement. Trainers are preferred for most classes unless otherwise specified (Ballet / Tap / Contemporary).

Be sure to check out Take 1 Dance merch at our reception area. All of which are suitable to take classes in.

Fantastic! We occasionally hold age grouped audition dates for those interested in joining our Take 1 Dance team and we will announce dates for these as they are arranged. Please note, we accept dancers of all ages (6+) and ability is not the deciding factor as to whether you are successful in joining.

We encourage you to speak to a member of staff about this to arrange a meeting to discuss pricing, training schedule and requirements further. We always advise you to be actively involved in our weekly timetable for us to get familiar with you/ your style/ ability etc too.

Our weekly timetable usually follows the Nottingham City Schools Terms and Holidays Calendar. Meaning we close during half terms and UK bank holidays. However we do occasionally continue classes during these school breaks to make up for other times we may have to close for other reasons.

We will announce closures and return dates during classes. Our website and social media will reflect this… if classes aren’t posted, they are not running that week.

We cannot allow any filming of minors in our open classes for safeguarding reasons, this includes any attempts to film only your young person through our viewing window.

As adults, you are allowed to film/document yourself during classes however we ask you to respect others in the class by not asking them to stop training to film you and/or filming them and sharing without permission. Our teachers often capture groups during the end of classes from which you can request to be sent. It is advised to do this rather than spending valuable class time running to get and setup phones and not dancing.
